The long yellow daylily is also known as Xuan Cao Flower in Chinese, and since ancient times the Chinese have regarded this delicate flower as an auspicious object. It is believed that pregnant women can give birth to a boy by wearing it, so some people call it “Yinan Cao” (the grass of having a boy), which is the national flower for mothers.
